About Mike Ricordati

As one of Columbus, Ohio’s most recognizable radio personalities for more than 15 years, WBNS's Mike Ricordati is the host of the 3-6 p.m. daily sports talk program The Common Man and T-Bone. During this afternoon drive talk show, Ricordati covers the full range of Ohio State University sports as well as professional teams across the state and the Columbus Blue Jackets. Mike Ricordati has been recognized by Barrett Sports Media, Talkers Magazine, and Radio Ink as among the industry’s most influential people.

Along with his daily show, Mike Ricordati is also the Director of Content and Imaging and is responsible for overseeing other programs on his station as well as marketing and imaging for The Fan Radio Network and WBNS AM and FM. In 2019, he helped coordinate a multi-year agreement with Major League Soccer for English radio broadcast of the Columbus Crew SC on 97.1 The Fan. As he described it, this deal was a true community effort that reflected the team’s owners’ close relationship with the local soccer fan base.

One of the aspects of broadcasting Mr. Ricordati feels strongly about is quality of equipment, both from his and the listeners’ perspectives. Committed to the highest possible fidelity, he uses Beyerdynamic headphones, as well as a Heil microphone that passes through a Wheatstone mic processor. Mike Ricordati has given back throughout the years as a spokesperson for the On Our Sleeves campaign with the Nationwide Children's Hospital.
